Poland played their fifth consecutive five-set match in the men’s Volleyball Nations League and achieved their third win in a row. This time, Turkiye were close to upsetting the defending champions on their ground in Gliwice on Thursday by pushing the match to a tie-breaker resolution, but inspired by the fantastic support form the stands, the Poles held up to celebrate the victory. With about 10 thousand fans cheering on, Poland produced a dramatic 3-2 (26-28, 25-19, 25-21, 19-25, 15-11) win over Turkiye to improve to a 4-2 win-loss record and 11 points, occupying sixth place in the current VNL standings, while also keeping their number one spot in the FIVB World Ranking. On 3-3 and 9, Turkiye stand ninth in the table.
